I would be grateful to have recommendations, or caveats, from colleagues who have had recent experiences any of the major museum/nonprofit fundraising firms. We are especially interested in experiences revolving around state-wide or regional capital drives. We are facing that age-old debate about whether to obtain professional management for a future major capital drive or to stretch staff time and resources and manage the campaign ourselves. Having done both, I know currency of information is of great value. If we do go with professional services, we would like to find firms that do more than charge six-figures for pep talks and "cookbook" campaigns. You may want to reply off list directly to me. And thanks . . . ---------------------- Byron Johnson, Director Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum P.O.
