Works by John Beatty are being sought for a possible exhibition.  Beatty
(1850-1924) was a painter and printmaker who became the first director of
the Department of Fine Arts at Carnegie Institute (now the Carnegie Museum
of Art).  He was instrumental in establishing the Carnegie International
and, in order to encourage local artists, invited the Associated Artists of
Pittsburgh to exhibit at the Museum starting in 1911.  Please call the
