Hello, Georgen, et al. -- I passed your original posting along to one of our staff who is familiar with H-D motorcycles (his blue & silver Softtail is sitting in the lot as I write this). His eyes sorta got REAL big. In addition to the PR person already mentioned, he suggested you contact Harley-Davidson's Historian, Marty Rosenbloom (sp?). H-D started in 1903, so what you have is a very early example of their production. He said this bike, especially in the condition you describe, is worth lots of money. Museum ethics prevent me from mentioning the figure, but I was impressed. Sounds like your best bet would be to contact a reputable antique vehicle appraiser before doing anything else. He also mentioned that he saw an article a while back (that was as specific as he could get) in a magazine called "American Rider" about the "Silent Gray Fellow" wherein they rode the machine and described it. You might want to try to find that article for background information. Good luck, sounds like you may have found the motorcycle equivalent of a Rembrandt in your attic!
