I am researching representations in museums with particular reference to
the paleolithic. I am wondering if anyone could help with a few questions:

1. Charles Knight's 3 murals of flint knappers, staghunters and artists
seem to be only reproduced in black and white in all the books I have
come across. Does anyone know where I can find them in colour?

2. When did dioramas begin to be used in museums? Are there any
photographs of early ones (of paleolithic people) available anywhere?

3. I have found fascinating information about Hitler's educational plan
for children to visit museum, handle stone tools, make copies for
themselves, learning the while about the continuity of the german people.
I would be interested to learn of other clear-cut cases of representation
for political purposes.

Many thanks
