Aren't contacts part of the point of an > >internship? In order to get a full time Curatorial job with the National Park Service, I first took a part time clerk-typist job (talk about low pay!). When the Museum Aid left I filled in on some of those duties while the hiring process commenced, and I was finally hired for the position. Eventually I was promoted to Museum Technician. In all cases, the pay wasn't great, but I received some fantastic training that still serves me to this day.
