Jason Ryan Josvai queried: "Getty Art and Architecture ... was wondering if it would pertain to her collections?" Now that our "Royal We" collections are Internet linked and part of the collective global cultural resources museum, we all need to use standardized thesauri to all be speaking the same inquiry lanquage. Getty's Art and Architecture Thesaurus, as well as the equally accomplished new version of the Library of Congress Thesaurus for Graphic Materials, both are outstanding resources for identifying terminology to describe "things" in pictoral collections. I would venture to speculate that alien beings, needing some way to classify subjects in pictoral materials, would also find the AAT and LCTGM very helpful. Maybe there will be an X-Files episode soon based on ... well... Military or otherwise, everyone should be using AAT and LCTGM in cataloging their collections.
