Mixed opinions. I think that if you have a wizbang Access programmer who is also a good data dictionary writer - then I say go for it - but I have found that Access has a very high learning curve and is nearly impossible to cope with (let alone integrate with non-Microsoft products (Wordperfect for one)). My recommendation is to go with a smaller off the shelf system. This way you will also have a user group and some built in standards.
