I'm busy making a more reduntant assault on the distribution list system than may be justified to announce a new list but don't feel that MUSEUM-L can be overlooked in the present "campaign". Apologies are hereby extended to anyone who ends up seeing this message more than once. * * * The Museum Web Development List, MUSWEB-L, is intended to provide a forum for the discussion of all issues related to the development of World Wide Web services at museums. This includes administrative concerns in the maintenance of Web sites as well as technical matters relating to the authorship and transfer of hypertext documents. Additional network services commonly accessed from the Web environment using mailto, ftp, and gopher URLs also lie within the scope of the list. This includes technical issues which do not do not relate directly to the Web, such as the maintenance of gopher and ftp services, and e-mail distribution lists. MUSWEB-L is being provided to serve those who are professionally involved with the maintenance of Internet services at museums. It is not intended as a platform for interaction with the user community since it is assumed that museums which offer network services also provide their own feedback channels. Anyone may submit a request for membership in MUSWEB-L. In keeping with the preceding statement, applicants may be asked to provide a brief description of their professional concern with museum networking services prior to being added to the list. If you wish to join MUSWEB-L please send a message to: [log in to unmask] with the first line in the body of message containing the command: SUBSCRIBE MUSWEB-L Yourfirstname Yourlastname - - - Cary Karp <[log in to unmask]> Department of Information Technology Phone: +46 8 666 4055 Swedish Museum of Natural History Fax: +46 8 666 4235 Box 50007, 104 05 Stockholm, Sweden
