As far as I remember, the *.pic format has it's origine with the Atari. I don't remember the names of the programms, but if you can get a really old graphics programm, it will possibly open it. The *.pics has to do with GEM, a desktop system onve developed by Digital Research (now Novell), there may be still some freaks using an (IBM-compatible) PC with the GEM-desktop.
