A downloadable virtual gallery shell can now be bought from SYNAPTIC CONNECTIONS enabling a bulletin board to function as a repository for entire exhibitions of paintings - in 2 or three rooms - to be downloaded and installed on a visitor's machine. In a Gallery Floor Editor a user may plan a floor of spaces, with corridors, doorways etc and drag & drop exhibitions into the arrangement of their choice. Visiting the exhibition preserves the look and feel of an actual gallery, but the system can be adapted to museums or libraries. It is designed to preserve the actual event, by using photographs of the walls of an actual exhibition to create the walls of the virtual event (but fictional events can be created in graphics programmes). Enlargements of the images on the wall by point and right-click, with the possibility of linking the image with its own seperate textfile. Catalogue and CV of artist accompany each exhibition. It is also designed to accept internet links, so that the high quality image available behind the thumbnail on the wall can open up a Web Browser and pull down the high quality image from a remote site. You could create a gallery of exhibition painters from museums around the world and use your gallery simply as a graphics interface to all the remote computers. CURATOR has a hold of other features as well. It has a full archiving system, Electronic publishing facilities, enabling the creation of standalone portfolios of images and text (read like a book, and substitute for a catalogue), standalone 3D catalogues, preserving images of the actual event to add to a virtual collection, Information office with What's On notice board and Portfolio of the Artists, A lift to all the floors, Workshops for the creation of new exhibitions and portfolios etc..etc..
