COLLECTIONS MANAGER

The Virginia Museum of Natural History seeks a museum
professional to administer the collections care and management
program.  The Collections Manager supervises 2 Collection
Assistants and a Registrar, and works with staff in 6 research
departments to manage collections (paleontology, earth
sciences, mammalogy, invertebrates, herpetology).  Serves as
the museum resource for utilizing these collections in exhibits
and education programs.  Qualifications include graduate degree
in museum studies or a relevant science, and extensive
collection management experience.  Must be able to demonstrate
knowledge and experience with organization and nomenclature of
specimens, computerized information systems, documentation
methods, preventive conservation, grant writing, and project
management.  Salary range $42,783-$65,323.  Send complete vitae
