"Rattlesnakes: Truth, Myth and Medical Response" will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 25 at the SDNHM. Dr. Findlay Russell will discuss the medical aspects of reptile venom and envenomation, and SDNHM director of collections care Sally Shelton will discuss rattlesnake biology and popular representations and misrepresentations. Specimens from the SDNHM Klauber collection, the largest museum collection of rattlesnakes in the world, will be on exhibit, as will rare and antiquarian herpetology books from the Klauber Rare Book Collection.
