The Correctional Service of Canada has a museum in Kingston, Ontario. It's located in the old Warden's House between the soon to be closed Women's Penn and the Maximum security Male penn. In a brochure it states the the museum "displays a variety of artifact and documents pertaining to the early history of Canadian Penitentiaries; A variety of items ranging from contraband weapons to escape devices; artifacts of inmate hobby crafts, industry, education, and discipline; and takes visitors through to our 'Mission' for the future." They also have a replica jail cell and a room showing prison art. I've been to the museum before and found it really interesting. Last summer while working in another Kingston Museum I found out that there were many people who were interested in going to a prison museum. They can be reached at: Sharon L.
