Customers can view and select products; complete an order form (which automatically calculates all taxes and shipping charges); indicate the preferred method of payment, and confirm the purchase online 24 hours a day. "This is an exciting addition to the CMCC's venture into the virtual museum experience," says Dr. George F. MacDonald, President and CEO of the CMCC. "Visitors from around the world can now order Museum products on-line. Items as diverse as reproductions from our collections, internationally renowned publications, and our most recently developed multimedia products are part of this first phase of our Cyberboutique." The products featured in the Cyberboutique have been selected from the Museum's collections, and are presented in the following categories: Native Products, Canadiana, Just for Kids, World Cultures, Museum Souvenirs and Military Memorabilia. Products include Museum-quality reproductions, jewellery, t-shirts, books, multimedia and posters. Purchases can currently be made from around the world in English or French. Information will soon be available in German and Japanese as well. Museum Members receive a 10% discount on all their Cyberboutique purchases; other visitors to the Web site will also be offered an opportunity to become new members online, automatically allowing them to receive the member discount as well. All purchase requests are transmitted to the Museum via electronic mail; however, customer credit card information is supplied only by telephone, fax or mail.
