A "Behind the Scenes" article in today's New York Times Business Section (12/18/95, p. D3) about the National Gallery of Art Microgallery quotes David Ross of the Whitney: "...working in digital galleries had more in common with writing scholarly articles than doing the painstaking combination of arranging and explaining art objects -- the essentials of the curator's craft." The article also points out that once curators understood the conceptual basis of hypertext, the possibility of deeper context, they warmed to the idea. There's also an article on Tim Berners-Lee (p. D1) who most people consider the creator of the World Wide Web. ___________________________________________ ROBBIN MURPHY, creative director, artnetweb [log in to unmask] http://artnetweb.com/artnetweb/ 426 Broome Street, NYC 10013 212 925-1885
