Oh yes, i completely forgot.  On Fisherman's Wharf in San Franciso (quite
near a Madame Tussaud's" is the "Museum de Torture."  I've only seen the
entrance, but it looks as if it has lots of wonderful (?) implements of
pain, as well as many mannequins as the recipients of the pain.
It's definitely on the amusement park end of the museum spectrum.
