Once again I need some advice from the more conservatorial portion of the museum list. I am working on some rolled storage for textiles, following directions from the Canadian Conservation folks. It suggests that non-archival tubes may be used, provided that they are wrapped in a barrier (they cite mylar and polyethylene film) and then wrapped in acid-free tissue. Is there a particular type or brand name of film that you would suggest? Would aluminum foil be ok? The larger textiles are mostly quilts and small rugs, the small ones will be lace of various types, if that makes a difference. Thanks again for your help.
