The gun situation may be unique but post-accession use is a universal
question. For example, we have a c. 1760 silver epergne which people
frequently want to use as a bon-bon dish for receptions. Or on a smaller
level, "why can't we light the candles in the candlesticks?" We used to
even dress students in the historic costume collection and use them for
fund-raising events. I think it's a big question. How are the rest of you
handling this?
