Our man in Glasgow should know about the Illicit Museum, up in the wilds
of the Morvern peninsula in the Scottish highlands. A lady with a shifty
gaze takes yer pound note and opens wide a doorway into a room filled
with muckle strange gear for poaching, smuggling, and otherwise tramping
on the property of lairds, Englishmen, and other depredators of natural
freedom. The security system is nae too gude, either. Best, Richard
Rabinowitz, American History Workshop.
