Hi! I'm a student in a Belgian university doing research in an internship for the European Comission in the telecommunications department. I am assigned the evaluating the constuction of a model for connecting all of the big museums in Europe. Seeing that some art and science museums in the States have already done so; I would like to enquire on information or documentation concerning the implications of museums on the net. Namely: 1. On the potential or eventual gains and/or benefits (advantages) museums get by placing themselves onto the net. 2. Who carries the cost of digitalising everything and adding effects on museum webpages. It is sponsored? By whom? Public financing? Private telecom companies? 3. Most importantly, has it increased the number of real visits? If so by how much? And has it renewed an interest of the public? I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide me with or direct me to the proper person to address to. In advance, I thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, Jeffrey Goldmuntz
