The aim is to impart detailed information on the potential, limits and fields of application of the different methods currently available in order to extend the capability of conservation scientists in this specialized field. Target group: scientists from various disciplines (chemistry physics, biology, etc.), with at least = 2 years of experience in the field of conservation. The five-week course will be given in mid-1997 in French in Paris (a second edition in English is foreseen).
