AHA! That's the issue, that Byron so clearly lays out for
          us: if we don't limit the supply of museum "professionals",
          then we will continue to be underpaid. Into the trash with
          all of this highblown talk of adequacy of skills to the
          task. Accredidation and official qualification for museums
          people is then analagous to getting a medallion for a yellow
          cab, or a union card.
 
          Well, that is really fine by me, no sarcasm here at all, I
          certainly don't want to be underpaid, but let's emulate
          Byron's honesty! Museum workers of the world *Unite* for
          better pay and better working conditions!
 
          My only caveats are two: 1) do we really want to keep out
          people with different sorts of educations and backgrounds;
          and 2) I don't think it will work, given the current
          political and funding climate for museums.
