Changing times in Libraryland are the focus of the AMIGOS Fall 1994 Conference, to be held November 1-4 at the Harvey Hotel-Addison in Dallas, Texas. Lisa Fox, a nationally recognized expert and educator in library and archival preservation, was instrumental in beginning SOLINET's Preservation Program. She will present Fast Forward: Strategies for Maintaining Magnetic Media, on November 1. On November 2, procedures for dealing with potential violence and emergencies in libraries will be examined during Violence in the Library: Prevention, Preparedness and Response. This Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) institute features Stevan Layne, an authority on cultural security management. Helena VonVille, Internet Liaison Officer for AMIGOS, will present Using Mosaic to Access the WWW on November 3. Dr. Sara Fine, Professor of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh, is a licensed psychologist whose areas of teaching, research and publication concern the psychology of information and the human side of technological development.
