Pam and others, The biggest problem seems to be the way University of New Mexico systems handles incoming bitnet mail. I do not know enough about how each individual system works to know what is going on with each person, but when the mail hits UNM, one of two things happens to bitnet mail. 1. The UNM system recognizes incoming mail as bitnet mail and all is fine. 2. Often times, UNM sees incoming bitnet mail as internet mail lacking a domain, so the system is polite and changes incoming mail to the UNM.EDU domain. So, when you go to unsubscribe or perform other functions with listserv, listserv may not understand your bitnet address and problems result. If your institution has several different mail handlers, you may want to check with your site administrator on the difference in sending bitnet and internet mail. Either way you mail will get to where it is going, and the return address will be okay, but software such as listserv may not understand. --john chadwick [log in to unmask] [log in to unmask]
