PLEASE POST FOSSIL PREPARATOR DALLAS MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY The Dallas Museum of Natural History is seeking a skilled fossil preparator. Successful applicant will have experience in cleaning, preserving, restoring and mounting fossil vertebrate specimens. DMNH has prepared and mounted several large vertebrate fossil skeletons in recent years, and most of the successful applicant's duties will involve preparation of a series of small dinosaur skeletons for exhibit. Interest or experience in preparation of invertebrate fossils would also be valuable. Degree in paleontology or zoology preferred but not required. The position requires considerable general knowledge of paleontology, anatomy, and techniques of fossil preparation, in addition to well-developed artistic and organizational skills. Considerable public contact will be required, and the individual selected will play an important role in ongoing public education programs. The position is funded for two years, with the potential for renewal. Salary will be commensurate with experience, and is accompanied by a generous benefits package.
