Hello Brian, The Association of Youth Museums will be holding its annual conference in Philadelphia in May of '95. There will be sessions geared specifically to start-up institutions. If you call me at work next week (I'm on vacation now and rolodex-less), I can get you the dates and the AYM numbers and address. (Ms. Glaser's info is a little out of date. Jeanne Finan is no longer the AYM chair. There is a new director of the organization with a new office and all the trimmings.) AYM does have a mentoring program that hooks up new museums with established ones, it may be something useful to you. You might want to visit the Montshire Musuem in Vermont, an outstanding science museum for kids. Another possibly useful tool might be the children's museums discussion group, CHILDMUS. You can subscribe through "[log in to unmask]". There are a few dozen museums on the list which should provide you with good input. Hope this helps.
