Education Program Specialist

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is looking for an Education Program Specialist to share their passion for teaching and history.  Sixty years after the assassination of President Kennedy, the impact of his presidency and the issues he faced are still felt today. The Museum’s Education Department helps students and teachers engage with history and understand how the world today came into being. Through programming designed to connect classroom learning and historical topics to personal experiences, the Museum strives to fulfill President Kennedy’s challenge the American people to actively engage in their communities and work towards the future.

 

The Education Program Specialist will play a vital role in helping people born decades after the assassination of President Kennedy to understand the legacy of his presidency and the 1960s. Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Education Program Specialist is responsible for designing interactive education programs, materials and resources for K-12 students and teachers and youth and family audiences. This position will help create and facilitate partnerships with schools and community organizations to provide unique immersive learning experiences at the local, state and national level while building engagement in Museum initiatives. Serving as part of the Museum’s interpretation team, the Education Program Specialist participates in the development of exhibition materials and related programming for school audiences.

 

The Education Program Specialist is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. The position is based at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX. Salary: $47,000-$57,000 commensurate with experience. Museum Educator -- Part Time Contract Position

 

Do you have a passion for teaching and sharing history? The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is looking for a Museum Educator on a part time contract conduct tours and learning experiences for students at the Museum.

 

The Museum Educator works with our Education Department to provide education programming for K-12 audiences at the Museum and through distance learning. The Museum Educator will facilitate hands-on learning experiences including school visits and workshops focused on the life and legacy of President Kennedy and the 1960s. Hours vary up to 20 hours per week based on programming needs. Scheduling is flexible with preferred availability Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The Museum Educator is a contractual position. Salary: $22.00/hour.
