Hi Julia and Krista!

When I was at the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, we installed some really cool NPS style signage at our historic mine for self-guided tours. We had similar needs with harsh winter weather as well as intense UV light during the summer. We had concerns about vandalism, so the signs also have a way to be easily secured at night/in the off season.

Steve Whittington ([log in to unmask]) is the Director there and I know he would still have the specs for the signs and where we ordered them from.

Hope that helps!

Happy Thursday!

Hello Julia and listers!

I am also very interested in this topic, if you wouldn't mind including me in your replies about outdoor signage materials.

Thank you!

Good morning, fellow Museum-L’ers!

I’m looking for testimonials on outdoor interpretive signage materials, specifically Custom High Pressure Laminates. The samples that we have in hand are from Fossil, 1/8” thickness, 12 color HD printing with UV coating. Any opinions on the powder coated aluminum NPS style signage mounts would be great, too.

Any experience with these materials (the good, the bad, the ugly) is appreciated. We are especially interested in hearing from people who have used this material in harsh winters, who have dealt with graffiti/vandalism, or any other trying conditions which the signage has performed under.

Thanks very much!
