JOB TITLE: Archivist & Curator of Collections

DESCRIPTION: Tulsa Historical Society & Museum seeks a full-time Archivist & Curator of Collections to supervise and work with the collection. THSM is looking for a dedicated, energetic candidate who is able to work in an environment
with multiple responsibilities and varied duties. Primary duties include maintaining collection, collection development, working with volunteers/interns, maintaining collections database, interacting with the media and the members of the public regarding Tulsa
history through research requests and museum exhibits.
DUTIES: Maintain, develop and implement ongoing organization of institutional holdings comprised of photographic, archival, and three-dimensional artifact collections relating to Tulsa history; work with the public by building
relationships to enhance the collection; manage, train and evaluate archival volunteers and interns; catalogue, process, digitize items within the THSM collection; maintain collections database; work with staff creating exhibits in the museum; manage public
access to collection including media and research requests; maintain THSM digital collection; promote THSM while dealing with public, fellow institutions, historians, educators, museums and civic organizations.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Museum Studies preferred, with emphasis on collections, or ongoing coursework toward completion of Master’s degree; relevant archival experience organizing and processing museum collections;
building relationships with community; ability to work proficiently with scanners, computers and PastPerfect museum software; ability to work in environment with multiple concurrent short and long-term projects; ability to lift and carry archival boxes and
historical artifacts; a love of history.
