AASLH has several upcoming webinars:

Telling the Whole Story: Strategies for Representation from “#1 in Civil Rights”
What do you do when your institution’s past collecting choices were not in sync with your institution’s current aspirations for diversity and inclusion? To bridge this gap and create the acclaimed exhibit “#1 in Civil Rights the African American Freedom Struggle in St. Louis,” Missouri Historical Society developed practical techniques and strategies for telling the whole story including interpreting the absence of objects, contextualizing little known episodes in history, storytelling, and honoring visitor voices in adult guided experiences. The live webinar event is Tuesday, March 13. More information

Historic House Call: Immersive Education in Historic House Museums
The Molly Brown House Museum and Byers-Evans House Museum in Denver have reworked their spaces to bring in more immersive, hands-on sensory learning not only for school children but new groups including young professionals. This webinar will inspire attendees to look at their space in a new way and not be afraid to look beyond the ropes. The live webinar event is Wednesday, March 21. More information

Implementing NAGPRA: The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act
Almost 30 years after passage of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), there is still misunderstanding and confusion among some in the museum community regarding its requirements and procedures. Whether NAGPRA is new to you or you would benefit from a refresher, this webinar will help you feel more confident about NAGPRA implementation and consulting with tribal representatives. You will also learn how museums can benefit from building relationships with Native American communities beyond NAGPRA implementation. The live webinar event is Wednesday, April 4. More information
