Immerse yourself in 18th-century history, agriculture and industry with our summer internship program. Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 16, 2018.
This program is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of college as of June 4, 2018, and will not have graduated as of June 4, 2018.
Benefits
Field Trips: Participate in special field trips to other historic sites and museums in the region.
Pay: This is a paid internship, and interns receive reimbursement for travel expenses to and from Mount Vernon. Lodging is available.
Requirements
Applicants should be:
Undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of college as of June 4, 2018, and will not have graduated as of June 4, 2018.
Comfortable with public speaking.
Available during the entire ten week internship period of June 4 through August 10, 2018.
Able to work outdoors in hot and humid weather and do rigorous physical activity including demonstrating 18th-century farming methods, field work, and milling/distilling.
Candidates with a background or a keen interest in history are preferred.
