Call for Applications: Visiting Professorship at the University of Oxford, October 6, 2017 deadline

Applications are invited for a Terra Foundation for American Art Visiting Professor for the 2018-19 academic year at the University of Oxford. This professorship will be based in the History of Art Department, part of the History Faculty, and is offered in association with a Visiting Fellowship at Worcester College.

Candidates should hold a doctorate and teaching experience, have an important research practice and/or research potential, be recognized as an international authority within the relevant field.
The successful candidate will teach at both undergraduate and graduate level, engage in administrative work, and conduct his/her own research in the history of American art. This post will be a stimulating opportunity to create lasting research networks, to initiate and organize international scholar events, and to provide new, global perspectives on American art to scholars and curators at Oxford and beyond.

The post is available to begin between September 1 and October 1, 2018 for a fixed-term of one year. The deadline for applications is 12.00 pm on Friday October 6, 2017. Interviews are expected to take place in Oxford during November 2017.
