2018 Call for Provenance Research Exchange Program Applications for the German/American PREP for Museum Professionals, 2017-2019.

Applications are now being accepted<http://provenance.si.edu/jsp/prep.aspx#CallforApplications> through Sept. 15, 2017.

PREP is the first systematic, international exchange program for art museum professionals (curators, provenance researchers, archivists, collections managers, lawyers, and specialists in digital humanities) and graduate students who focus on World War II-era provenance projects. Each year of the Program, a cohort of 21 German and American participants will attend two week-long Exchanges. Professionals working at US and German museums, archives, and research institution will share their areas of expertise and explore research resources and methodologies in order to create a collaborative network of provenance research professionals.

In 2018, PREP participants will be hosted by The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles (Feb. 26–March 2, 2018) and the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, Munich (Oct. 8–12, 2018). PREP supports travel, lodging, meals, and programs for participants.

In addition to SPRI and SPK, PREP partners include: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles; Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collections); Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte (ZI), Munich; and the Deutsches Zentrum Kulturgutverluste (German Center for Lost Art), Magdeburg.

PREP is funded by the German Program for Transatlantic Encounters/European Recovery Program and the German Federal Commission for Culture and the Media, PREP partners, and the Smithsonian Women’s Committee
