A fully funded PhD studentship at Queen's Belfast is available starting 1 September 2017 on the topic "Chinese Customs Houses and Sino-Western Encounter in the Unequal Treaty Era" - http://go.qub.ac.uk/spark-customshouses .
This is part of SPaRK, the Queen's doctoral training programme funded by the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie programme. All tuition fees will be paid (including for non-EU students) and students will additionally receive a stipend of £25,576.45 per annum and access to a generous training programme.
Applicants should normally have a 2:i Master's degree in a relevant subject. Applicants must have spent NO MORE than 12 months out of the last three years working or studying in the UK. They must also have completed no more than four years of research since completing their highest degree, and should not currently hold a PhD.
