Pacific Science Center (PSC) is seeking an experienced Youth & Family Programs Manager to join the Science and Education team.  We are looking for a creative leader to direct the vision and strategy for family/youth learning at the Center.  PSC’s Youth & Family Programs provide activities and resources that inspire children to explore their inner scientist/engineer in creative and fun ways.  Our Youth & Family Programs Manager leads PSC’s family-centered initiatives, including week-long day camps, workshops, scout and evening programs, and our onsite preschool. The programs this department oversees brings STE(A)M to life in welcoming and engaging environments.

 

The Youth & Family Programs Manager is responsible for creating and managing effective, memorable, innovative, and compelling offerings that respond to the needs of PSC’s diverse audiences; creating and managing program partnerships with individuals, organizations and groups; and implementing practices that lead to continual program improvement.  The Youth & Family Programs Manager has excellent organizational skills and is able to manage multiple, logistically complex activities simultaneously within a museum setting while guiding the vision and priorities of programs for families. They supervise the Youth & Family Programs team and report to the Director of Science and Education.

 

The successful candidate brings practical experience in management and budgeting, as well as innovative perspectives to the content and format of existing programs and resources for children and families at PSC. They initiate new projects with the aim of engaging current and broader audiences. They are responsible for overseeing the creation of programs, resources, and initiatives that help make PSC a welcoming, accessible, social, and educational environment for children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, along with their families. This is a key position in helping children and their families grow with a sequence of developmentally appropriate programs, establishing lifelong connections with science and Pacific Science Center.
