Winter Begins Early Wed; Ursid Meteors Peak Wed. Night
The December Solstice, which astronomically marks the beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere of Earth and Summer in the Southern Hemisphere, begins early Wednesday morning. About 24 hours later comes the peak of the annual Ursid Meteor Shower.
