Dear Colleagues,

The local organizing committee, a partnership between the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Denver Botanic Gardens, is honored to host the 32nd annual meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections, June 18-24, 2017, in Denver Colorado.

The theme of the meeting is “The Next Generation in Best Practices.” This broad theme is intended to reflect the core aim of SPNHC to codify and disseminate best practices for the development, management, and care of natural history collections and their associated data. The goal for the technical sessions is to highlight best practices, new solutions, and the use of technology as it relates to the session themes. All technical sessions, symposia, and poster sessions will be held June 21-22, 2017. We welcome your contribution to the program.

Themed sessions will include:

·        Disaster Preparedness

·        Impacts of Changing Regulations

·         Moving Collections

·         New Solutions to Old Problems

·         Public Access to Collections

·         Sustainability

·         Demo Camp

·         Advances in Digitization Worldwide: an iDigBio Symposium
