David,I don't think so, it is a silver metal. I am confused how it could be used for printing as it is a flat surface, but I don't know anything about printing. On Thu, Sep 29, 2016 at 11:43 AM, topladave . <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Bronwen,
Is the metal copper?
These sure sound like copper plate photographs used for printing.

www.cityofangelsconservation.weebly.com The Buggy Museum received two items that are a mystery for us. Can anyone help? They are wooden blocks, 7/8" depth, different height and length. They have flat metal plates nailed to the block. The metal has an image, but it is a negative image and we can identify the men. But since this is out of my area, I don't know if these are negatives? Tintypes? They are different from all other negatives and tintypes that we currently have in our collection. I can send photos to anyone off list if you can help.--Bronwen Anderson-Sanders, Executive DirectorMifflinburg Buggy Museum598 Green Street, Mifflinburg, PA 17844Get on the PATH - Preserve American Transportation History
