As a Museum Studies student, I haven’t had the opportunity (yet) to be in your exact situation.  However, I recently designed stickers for clinic patients who just received a flu vaccination.  It was a simple process of asking my printer for sticker sizes.  After selecting the size (and background color), I created the image PDF in photoshop.  Very easy and inexpensive, and the stickers stayed affixed to clothing perfectly.  They most likely have better glue than office-store stickers, which are meant to be easily removed from objects.

When we have overlapping data collection for evaluation projects, we use small colored sticker dots to help identify visitors who have participated in cued evaluation activities (surveys, interviews, think alouds) to try and avoid sampling the same visitor twice. Right now they are just basic office supply stickers (about the size of a nickel).  They are not designed for clothing so frequently fall off; they can be difficult to see due to their size, and visitors may be slightly self conscious about donning a random dot. Does anyone on this list currently use this type of identifying sticker method?  Do you have text on the sticker?  What does it say? Where do you source your stickers (we want the type that are designed for clothing so they don't ruin fabric if they accidently go through the wash)?  Or, do you have other methods to avoid double sampling?
