Interpretive
Writing Course Openings
We
have several new openings for our popular Interpretive Writing Course. This is a college level course on
developing truly "interpretive" writing, based on Tilden's Interpretive
Principles and "outcome based" interpretive writing. The course covers:
- Writing using
interpretive principles (Provoke, Relate, Reveal).
- Writing to
illustrate interpretive themes.
- The model of
interpretive planning and making writing text decisions based on audience,
objectives,
media and pre-post testing evaluation.
- Interpretive
writing using tangibles, intangibles and universal
concepts.
- Writing using
active language, metaphors, similes, etc.
- Writing for
different media (one unit on each):
* Outdoor interpretive panels.
* Museum exhibit label copy.
* Writing for self-guiding media.
* Writing for audio interpretation.
- Writing with
feeling - interpreting "the rest of the story".
As with all of
our courses, this is a e-LIVE course where your writing assignments are sent to
the course instructor with whom you can SKYPE, phone or e-mail chat with - your
live personal interpretive writing coach.
You can also work on actual projects as part of course
assignments.
You can start
the course at any time and complete the course at your own
pace.
Our lecturers
and coaches are professional interpreters (with M.S/Ph.d degrees
actually in heritage interpretation and 15+ years of experience doing and
teaching interpretation at the college level).
