I used to work at an art gallery that did something similar. They could "purchase" decorating one of our exhibition spaces to be showcased in an annual Christmas/holiday art show. We pivided the space and a tree. Schools got involved by bringing classes on tours, and from that many businesses got involved. It was our largest fundraising event.
Has anyone recruited area businesses to decorate individual rooms in their historic house? We are looking at this as a marketing tool for both our museum and the business, so are considering charging a fee. All businesses would follow guidelines developed by the museum for safety of the collections and building. Any thoughts to share?--Laurel Fant
