Good Morning Jessica,
Yes.
Orientation for new BOT (Board of Trustees) members consists of:
1.            Orientation Manual (a ‘weighty’ document);
2.            Several staff led familiarization tours behind the scenes and public areas of all of the facilities (main facility – museum/giant 3D theater/planetarium; nature center; fossil research site; and two historic properties) of the museum system;
3. “Buddy” system, pairing an veteran BOT member (or a member of senior management) with a new BOT member for one-on-one ‘Learning Lunches’ and other informal on-on-one meetings; and,
4. A special morning meeting with breakfast…. just for new BOT members….. with presentations by members of senior management, each giving a briefing on what their departments do, their goals and objectives, activities, and meeting other senior staff – with opportunities to ask staff questions; and,
I hope you will find this information useful.
Best Wishes for Success!
Wesley
