Sales Director, Art Gallery, New York City

For our dynamic LES Contemporary Art Gallery client we are seeking a Sales Director.  The successful applicant will assist with all aspects of a program of narrative and text-based work by emerging to mid-career artists.  Duties include sales; developing and expanding private, public, corporate and museum clients; studio visits and liaising with artists; overseeing applications, logistics and sales at art fairs; writing press releases, catalogues and other support materials;  assisting with day-to-day operations and administration, databases and correspondence; other duties as necessary.  The ideal applicant will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in an art gallery with a focus on cutting edge art by emerging artists; existing client relations and excellent client development skills; proven sales history; and superb communications, writing, organizational and project management skills.  Salary to 60K plus commission and excellent benefits.  An excellent position for a community-oriented, energetic and engaged professional who values a collaborative atmosphere.  Please send resume with detailed cover letter and contact information for at least three references to [log in to unmask]
