There still is a certain amount of nicotine in some of them, as well.

Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] Vaping

Hi!

I museum I interned at created a policy just as vaping was becoming a thing. In short, it was forbidden. Vaping was allowed outside on the grounds because it doesn't have the potential for litter like cigarettes do. However, if it were a museum where the grounds were a big attraction and lots of people would be around, I believe it would have been disallowed (ie an outdoor museum or museum complex).

The reasons included:

1. It is moisture, I wouldn't let someone walk around with a humidifier.
2. It smells even though it isn't as bad as cigarette smell. The smell can linger and can interrupt other visitors. (I don't want to be walking and suddenly a walk into a big cloud of banana smelling vapor.)

Hope this helps!

Does anyone have policies on vaping in the museum (by staff and/or visitors)? What are the reasons for allowing/not allowing it? Any advice would be appreciated!
