Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Folding stretcher bars

Hello Colleagues,
I am sure some of you are familiar with the technique of folding a very large stretched painting in half in order to make it more manageable and easier to transport.
In order to do so one needs a tube to support it in the middle and collapsible stretcher bars that once separated will act as footings for the all contraption.
We are in New York City and were wondering if there are such manufacturers and distributors for folding stretcher bars?...or is that a custom job?
Thank you all so much for your help on this matter.
