Director & Manager of Retail Operations For our renowned New York City Contemporary Art Gallery client we are seeking a Director & Manager of Retail Operations. The successful applicant will manage all day-to-day operations for a luxury-retail bookstore focused on Contemporary Art, maximize sales, meet financial objectives and facilitate promotion of the gallery artists and program. Duties include working with gallery team to create and maintain the bookstore environment; plan and produce promotional events; work with the financial team to plan budgets, manage expenses, inventory, artist statements and POS systems; liaise with vendors and approve invoices; manage recruitment and HR; manage merchandise plan; create client outreach ; other duties as necessary. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a luxury retail environment with a focus on arts & culture; extensive knowledge of contemporary art, architecture, photography and design; and excellent client liaison, management, project coordination and organizational skills.
