I vote yes for explanatory signage, but I would not use the word "offensive."

You would think that Vegas would be a little more permissive, huh? This comes up because my director and I feel differently about how to handle the exhibit so she asked me to reach out to my "connections."

Ilana,
are you writing from Iran? Where is the problem?
Never heard of Picasso artworks offending visitors. On the other hand,  recently I heard one woman saying "These minarets are offending me". :-)
Anyone can be offended by anything. Shall we close academies, museums and universities to avoid this?
No.
Train people to stand art with tolerance.

Hello to the museum collective,

Our gallery, Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, will be opening our new exhibition, Picasso: Creatures and Creativity on July 3rd. The exhibition features a series of 15 lithographs of two nude women, in both realist and abstract forms. From an educational standpoint they serve to show Picasso's evolution in the artistic process but how to we showcase this with school and camp groups? Can we even show them at all? We have only booked one field trip so far, and in this case, I brought up the nudity and the camp director will come preview the exhibit. Also, aside from making my staff aware that some guests may be offended by the content and how we prepare for that, is there anything else we need to do? We will mention the content to guests that arrive with children, but we don't necessarily want to bring it up with every guest. I appreciate your input.
