SketchUp for Museums skill clinic (non-credit)

Hosted by the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science / museum studies specialization

Taught by Kent State SLIS alumna Emily O’Connor, M.L.I.S. ’13, Environments Designer

This clinic will introduce participants to the tools and features of Trimble SketchUp, an intuitive and beginner-friendly 3D modeling program. It will explore the variety of innovative techniques the program offers and how they can be used to communicate ideas and information within a museum setting. Participants will see examples of how SketchUp has been used in the design of real objects and exhibitions, and will learn how to create a model art gallery of their own. Advanced features of the program, such as Google Earth and LayOut, will also be discussed. (See agenda below.)
