Title: Educator and Resource Coordinator Description: Educator promotes the Florida Holocaust Museum to schools, district administrators and teachers in the public and private schools of the counties of responsibility. Develops and presents in-service programs for all K-12 teachers in cooperation with the Curator of Education. Creates curricula and resources for specific educational initiatives. Handles teaching trunk bookings, inventory, and shipping arrangements. Requirements: Must be able to lift 30 lbs or more, pay attention to details. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Meet with Principals, Administrators, Department Heads and appropriate Faculty to build/maintain positive cooperation and promote the resources of the Florida Holocaust Museum * Prepare and facilitate teacher trainings/workshops with the use of teaching trunks and appropriate materials * Create curricula and resources for specific educational initiatives * Prepare and present at selected conferences/summer programs * Book and coordinate all aspects of trunk management and scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries * Review and make recommendations regarding materials and resources · Supervise and inventory trunk contents prior to and after shipping and monitor physical condition of trunk cases · Update and regularly use an online platform of the FHM, including trunk reservation module, resource module, and reporting tools · Serve as a docent when needed Supervision: Curator of Education Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Ø Ability to devise and carry out educational programs Ø Knowledge of museum education techniques and resources Ø Skill in oral and written communication techniques appropriate to various educational levels and objectives Ø Knowledge of the objectives, curricula and operations of school systems and other educational institutions Ø Experience in creating curricula and resources for educational initiatives Ø Knowledge of the history of the Holocaust and other genocides Ø Knowledge of educational evaluation methods Ø Skill in using research techniques Ø High level of self-organization and self-discipline Ø Familiar with Microsoft Office, and knowledgeable in PowerPoint application Ø Able to focus on detail Ø Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience: Three years in a museum education department or other educational institution. Additional administrative experience in a related field is desirable. Prior training and work in the field of Holocaust/genocide studies.
