February 26-27 - Historic House Museums Issues and Operations at the Historic Charleston Foundation in Charleston, SC.  This two-day workshop offers an intensive look at the management and interpretation of historic houses taught by Max van Balgooy, President, Engaging Places, LLC, and George McDaniel, Executive Director of Drayton Hall.  Topics to be covered include:

 

·         Provocative Thinking: History, Historic Houses, Mission & Planning

·         Governance and Management

·         Marketing, Promotion, Fundraising, Membership & Earned Income

·         Sustainability and Alternative Uses for Historic Sites
